A fine example of teamwork and coordination, this joyous village event combined thankful worship with warm-hearted conviviality - even the church cleaning the day before turned into a sociable soup lunch.

The church was aglow with autumn hues and the warm light shed by the heaters; the altar was heaving with donations from the school and congregation for the Salisbury Food Bank.

After the service, we trooped across to the school hall, where we were greeted by the gorgeous aroma of meat and vegetarian cottage pies and fruit crumbles, not to mention Daphs’ famous roulade, an array of cheeses, and Louisa's plaited harvest loaf.

A record number of people went up for seconds!! There was a raffle, and all financial donations from the supper, amounting to around £400, went to CRESS, the charity supporting those from South Sudan who have been forced to flee to Uganda.
Grateful thanks go to the large number of people who made it all possible (you know who you are!) - couldn’t have done it without you.
