A service to celebrate our Oak Apple tradition: 'Preserve, Evolve, Inherit'.

It was a gloriously sunny day, remaining at over 20 degrees when the service began at 5:00pm on 2nd June. We were very grateful for the shade of a wonderful structure that had been left up for us, and for all the help we had with getting electricity from the barn to Sophie's keyboard and setting up the chairs. Donations this year went to Hope and Homes for Children.

The Oak Apple Club kindly provided red and white wine, which went down a treat afterwards!

The field used to have an old oak that had been planted from an acorn by grandad Thatcher; sadly, having had copper nails hammered into it by an unknown perpetrator, it gradually died back and was felled earlier this year ....... but it made a great and very appropriate altar!
