We all breathed a sigh of relief as fête day, this year on 31st May, dawned dry and bright. Turning up at the field late morning, I saw that the single tea tent from Thursday had multipled into a large number of structures, sporting plants, bottles competitions and loads more. There was a bouncy castle and children's rides, a coconut shy, some wonderfully decorated jars and pottery, Chris Lock with his beautiful cards, and a bar in the barn, to name but a few.

The fête began with the procession round the village, with May queen and attendants, camels and tractors of various shapes and sizes, all ending up in the field on display, including a very small steam engine.

There was plenty to eat throughout, with excellent burgers on the BBQ and tasty cakes in the tea tent - we have many talented bakers in this village! Decorating the tea tent was a display of tree themed artwork by the children of Wishford school.
We were entertained by Morris Dancers, a band and the afternoon ended with a very talented children's choir.

It was a wonderful day, made possible by the hard-working organisers behind the scenes and the pulling together of volunteers on the day - well done everyone!
