Still going strong after 10 years!

St Giles' Café celebrated its 10th anniversary on 18th July and took the opportunity to thank David and his late wife Eileen for being the inspiration behind the project. It was prompted by a plea for ideas on increasing church funds and has become a community asset, raising funds for church, and serving villagers and families every Thursday afternoon for a decade.

Caroline Gregory made one of her special cards which was full of messages of appreciation and a little ditty: Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake baker's man, bake me a cake as fast as you can - bake it and top it and fill it with smiles, for all to enjoy at Café St Giles'

The church showed its gratitude to David with thank you gifts of whisky and a garden centre token, while our lovely customers did so by coming in droves and donating a total of £155.90 for their afternoon teas and cakes. A huge thank you to them and to our amazing bakers without whom, we couldn't keep going!

Here's to the next 10 years!!
